The Bay Shore – Grade III (P2)
Race #3 7f Dirt Graded Stake
Purse $300.000 For Three Year Olds.
1 Final Tune, trained by Mb Stables
Unbeaten with four from four this one is building up into a real star of his generation
and a win in this will underline him as exactly that. Two wins in ungraded stakes races on this track
suggest he is well up to mvoing up a level and with the ace draw, a top jock and some fast works
it will be great to see how he goes against some very nice opposition.
2 Air Show, trained by Australia Wide
Tested sinec winning his maiden last September he has been close up in top routing company and adds
a real interest to this race. A sub 1.37 work for the mile normally is an indication to TC aspirations
but after buying this one for $250.000, AW has brought him back to a sprint trip and there is no reason
he won’t be too strong for these at the end.
3 Fly Millenium, trained by Blushing Meadows
The winner of the San Vincente over this trip he took his chance in the Rebel and ran pretty well to be
fourth in his last start. He hits a very strong field here but has every chance on his best form.
4 Urban Decline, trained by Alydar Stables
A good sort in ungraded stakes he has plenty of ability but may be a little outclassed in this.
5 Spanish Petals, trained by Scarletandgreystable
Won the grade three Hutcheson Stakes at the start of this year in a good time and then scraped home in an FG
overnight last time out. With four wins from eight and some black type form he must have a major chance in this
although he may find this seventh furlong a stretch.
6 Hes Juiced Up, trained by Mb Stables
Beaten only once in a five race career he won the Swale Stakes last time and that would be good enough to
give him a huge chance of a follow up today. This one along with his stable mate and Air Show make this a
real tough race to read.
7 Ferro, trained by Team 7 Illusions
Progressing nicely with a nice little black type last time this field may come too soon to see him a winning chance.
8 Capt Louis Renault, trained by Jerry Garcia Racing
Another consistent sort in overnights he hits a very strong field here and would do well to make the first four.
9 Sweetsmellofsuccess, trained by Axeman
Another nice sort but the wide draw and this above average field will be too much for him to hit the board.
SUMMARY
This looks a straight fight between the two Mb Stables horses with Australia Wide and Blushing Meadows trying
to upset the apple cart. I think Final Tune may have the edge although the market will probably make Hes Juiced Up
the favourite. If there are any chinks in there armour Fly Millenium and Air Show will be finishing hard.
