Mb Stables isn’t the leading conditioner for nothing… his dominance was clear in Saturdays The Hurricane Bertie (GIII) as Christina G and stable-mate First Impression controlled both the pace and the purse… Christina G taking the win by a neck in a final time of 1:15.39 for the six and a half furlongs. First Impression was a length better than Tommy Frazier as her stable-mate City Of Soul was fourth. Only seven lengths covered the competitive field of twelve in this main track sprint.
Christina G is a 4yo bay mare by Carson Express – Sweet Solero, by Radevore, and she was bred by Gustafson Stable in Cal. Claimed by her current connections for $62.500 back in March of last season, she now has seven wins from fourteen lifetime starts, and has earnings of $433.110. This was her third graded stakes win for the current barn.

Christina G broke mid-pack, moved up to track the pace while unhurried, battled down the lane, won driving. First Impression broke alertly, set the pace to deep stretch, could not hold off stable-mate. Tommy Frazier outrun for a half, closed full of run, gaining late. City Of Soul away from the gate in good order, gave an even effort. Unprecedented broke alertly, tracked the pace to the top of the lane, tired from there. Spy On Hollywood evenly, no factor. Roo flashed early speed, tired. Truly Deeply Madly was not a factor. Wfb No Regrets was outrun. Leave It To Me some early foot, outurn. Z Is For Zero was outrun. Crush Szyra trailed throughout, dull.
