1st Mist Maker, trained by Crocker Ggs
Wow, what can i say about this dynamic victory. Starting in the wide gate he was taken way back to the trail before starting a great run after half way to win by three quarters of a length. Not the normal breeding there is none of the much vaunted sires in his pedigree and his Dad was a pretty ordinary free track racer and his Mum unraced. However ability doesnt only rely on reputations and he was very impressive when taking the Coronation Futurity last time and even more impressive today. His trainer will head into Christmas with the air of anticipation for 2018.

2nd Slip Away, trained by TwinTowersRacing
Beat his rival this time after being third in the BC Juvenile Turf last time he certainly didnt seem to mind the dirt running a very nice race for second. The dilemma for his trainer will now be which surface to choose for his next race.

3rd Motor City, trained by First Class Stable
Another that turned the tables on the horse tat beat him last time which is nothing unusual at HRP. He moved up as they turned for home and looked like he may go on and win but just flattened out in teh final furlong and ended up third beaten a length.

4th Dastardly Havoc, trained by Mb Stables
Proving once again that the game is moving away from the fastest worker wins scenario that we have been used to he also closed up like a winner coming down the stretch but could not quicken and ended up fourth. Only a length separated the first four however and as was demonstrated in this race the finishing oder in this race has nothing to do with where they will finish next time.
