Moon Car Saunters to Victory in Regret

Regret – Grade III
1 1/8 Mile Turf Stake Purse $100.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.

1st Moon Car     Crocker Ggs     Colon L H       6.10      2 lengths               1:45.82

On a track that was to favor on pace all day this filly seem to have it won from the gate getting out to an easy lead on an average pace. She never looked in danger and hacked up by two lengths and proved once again how a complete switch of a career racing surface can pay dividends at HRP. Beaten and then a winner of lowly one win allowances at TUP in her last two you can’t say this win was on the cards but fast works on the turf and proof of ability in her run in the Tempted last year was enough to make her quietly fancied for this race. Who knows how good she will turn out to be but as the three year olds start to enjoy the weight allowances from older horses i would imagine this wont be her last stakes win this season.

2nd Tornado Warning    Mb Stables      Ortiz I Jr       7.10       1 length       1:46.33

Still with only one win she now has a grade three placing to her name and looks to be improving at the right time in her career. She never looked like getting to the winner after chasing her for much of the race i dont think she has the scope of Moon Car but there will be success in her future i am sure.

3rd Speeding Slayer       Jader Stable       Lanerie C J       1.85      3 3/4 L         1:46.63

Stalked the lead but was pretty tame in the second half of the race just whacking away for third in the end. A step back in trip may pay dividends with her.

4th Sneaky Opus        Drabfantasy         Leparoux J R         3.50    4 1/2 L           1:46.80

This was a great effort for a maiden but i can’t help being a little disappointed. On her run against Speeding Slayer she has basically made zero improvement since her debut but must still remain the best maiden in the game.
