More Glory for the Glorious Three-Year-Olds

Crosby Stakes – Grade I [BC]
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st Glorious, trained by Spankys Barn
It was silly of me to think that a sprint would make less difference when it came to the three year old weight allowances as this lovely gelding made all to score by a fairly convincing three quarters of a length. With no black type form at all it was hard to see him taking on these seasoned campaigners but HRP is all about work and race times with little difference in the class of races so add on his weight allowance and he looked a good thing. It will be BC bound for him now although i noticed another three year old win a claimer in a faster time today so he will have to prove himself against his own age group if he is going to pull off the big one.

2nd Scott The Great, trained by Team 7 Illusions
Won the B race for the older horses with a superb second. With only the one win in a little handicap at TUP this year it is clear he is improving all the time despite most of his best races coming at extreme route distances. It will be interesting to see where he goes next and whether he can improve enough to ever beat a three year old.

3rd Jesse The Bandit, trained by Scarletandgraystable
Taken back from the wide gate he flew at the end and did really well to get within a length of the winner. Already twice a graded stakes winner this year he looks like he is a cert to get in the BC Sprint and with a better draw will be sure to run well.

4th Dang, trained by John Henry
Another that ran on very well at the end he seems to have developed a timing problem recently. A decent run from an improving four year old who clearly has the ability to win a race like this.
