Nakamura Stables’ Mr Scratch sat behind the pace in Saturday’s Texas Turf, and when the money was on the line, he pushed past to clear this field by two lengths, stopping the timer in 1:44.92 for the mile and an eighth and securing the lion’s share of the $300.000 purse.  Post time favorite The Godfather did all of the heavy lifting, setting the pace into the lane, but couldn’t hold off the eventual winner, taking the runner-up spot.  Winstorm, sent off at 13/1 odds nabbed the third spot with Nakamura adding to their take-away, as Telladifferentstory was fourth. 

Mr Scratch is a 5yo bay gelded son of Aggravation – Legend Killer, by Chasing The Legend, and he was bred by Estero Farms in NY.  Acquired by Nakamura Stables via private purchase, for $40.000, back in April of 2020, this was his tenth lifetime score, third of the season and he now has earnings of $649.820.  Congrats to the Connections!
