My Plucky Takes Some Scalps in San Marcos Stakes

San Marcos Stakes – Grade II
1 1/4 Mile Turf Stake Purse $200.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st My Plucky, trained by Hambletonian Stable
Settling off the pace through half way he made stealthy ground and hit the front inside the last quarter going away for a comfortable one length win. He has been promising this type of form since his Henry Championship win and it now looks like he and his trainer are on the same page and i would expect a big season for the five year old.

2nd Darth Andredu, trained by Diablo Diablo
Flew late for second once again running his best race in defeat. I expect him to have another good season against the best class and there’s no doubt he has the ability to get his third career win soon.

3rd Major Weiner, trained by Night Rider Stables
There was a lot of confidence in this horse going into the race and for a while he looked perfectly placed to go on and win the race but just kept on at the one pace under the whip. Third is a start and it is a long season.

4th Gallivant, trained by Nakamura Stables
When he goes onto the pace like he did today i feel his best trip is a mile as he proved last time out. A mile and a quarter from the front is just beyond him and he weakened into fourth in the end.
