Three Year Olds Fillies

A full field of twelve three year old fillies have been entered to run in this years running of the grade two Davona Dale here at Gulfstream Park. All of these fillies will be going for Kentucky Oaks points in here as it does offer points towards the race. Let’s look at the field.

1. Numbered Account (4-2-0-0 $61.960), trained by D J C Racing Stables

First filly we come across in the field here and she is coming into this race off of an eighth place finish in the grade three Forward Gal. She didn’t run great in there but she did win a stakes race in her start before that. She will have to improve a lot to win in here.

2. Shes Spotted Cat (1-1-0-0 $11.100), trained by Threshold

Undefeated filly right here and she won her only start which was a maiden special weight at Turfway Park by an easy two lengths. She went wire to wire that day but she will have to go an extra two furlongs here. She won nicely in the debut but she’ll have to be even better here.

3. Uzume (6-1-1-2 $121.000), trained by Aer Stables

Next up in the field here is a filly who has a decent chance to win this if she can improve off of that third place finish in the grade two Santa Ynez. She ran very well in there that day and was beaten less than a length. If she can improve off of that she could be tough in that spot.

4. Coconut Princess (4-1-3-0 $82.160), trained by Rampage Stable

Now onto this filly in the field here and she is coming into this race off of a second place finish in the Silverbulletday Stakes at Fair Grounds. She ran a very good race that day and if she can do one better here she will be in the Oaks field most likely. I think she has a very good shot to win.

5. Never Forgotten (9-5-1-0 $829.000), trained by Estero Farms

A grade one winning filly here who won the Alcibiades. She just won the grade three Forward Gal over this same track in her last start and she handled that field with ease. I think the one turn mile suits her perfect and she looks like the horse to beat in this field.

6. Irrefutable (5-4-0-0 $127.140), trained by Mb Stables

First of two in the field here and this filly is coming into this race off of a win in the Gasparilla Stakes at Tampa. She had been handling statebred competition before that and now she will be trying graded stakes company for the first time. She looks to stand a big shot in this field.

7. Tell It Like It Is (7-4-0-2 $111.940), trained by Nakamura Stables

Next runner in the field here is also a stakes winner when she won the Hut Hut here over the same course and distance. She ran a bad race in the Silverbulletday but I think the off track hampered her quite a bit. I think she will run a while lot better if the track is fast.

8. Always Wendy (5-4-0-0 $84.940), trained by Mb Stables

9. Fashionable (4-1-0-2 $65.760), trained by Mb Stables

Second of the two for Mb Stables and this filly is another one that is coming out of the Silverbulletday and she finished third that day. She ran very well in there that day and she is still improving with every single start. I think she could jump up and win this spot.

10. Ebony Beauty (5-2-2-0 $81.600), trained by Tiratzo

Another filly coming out of the Silverbulletday here and she ran a bad eleventh in there that day. So far that has been the only blemish in her career and she should be able to rebound off of that race. I don’t know if she can handle this competition but she needs to bring her best.

11. Vegas Show Hen (6-3-0-0 $172.100), trained by Our Athletes

Now to this filly here and she is coming into this race off of a fourth place finish in the grade two Santa Ynez where she ran a pretty decent race. She seems to be a little bit better sprinting but this is a one turn mile. I think she needs to improve a lot to win in here.

12. Miss Tallmadge (8-2-0-3 $223.000), trained by John Henry

Another stakes winner in this field and she has been tested in deep waters before but she has not been very successful with those races yet. She did run a very good third in the grade three Forward Gal so if she can improve off of that race she will have a shot at upsetting this field.

13. Very Brady (3-1-0-0 $30.840), trained by Maletto

And now to the final runner in the field right here and she is also coming out of the Forward Gal where she finished fourth. She will be stretching back out in here where she broke her maiden but she has a very bad post to overcome. Tough task but maybe she can work out a trip.

14. Chance Of A Lifetime (6-2-0-1 $57.000), trained by Fractious

Summary

A big field has been entered up here for this running of the Davona Dale and there a quite a few good fillies in here. The one to beat looks like Never Forgotten to me as she won nicely last time and should be tough to beat here. Good luck to all in the field.
