AQU Race #1 $100.000 61/2 Furlongs

NY-Bred 3YOs 122 Lbs (Plus Penalties)

Track Record-1:14.57 (Hidden Scroll-2021)

Stakes Record-1:15.58 (We Rumble-2022)

On paper, We Rumble looked like the most-likely pace-setter in Sunday’s $100.000 Rego Park for NY-bred sophomores going 6.5 furlongs on the AQU main track; however, turns out, he runs really well with a target in front of him.  Tracking the pace set by race favorite Hysterically Funny, We Rumble took over around the 1/8 pole and held off Force Of The Shark in the final 50-yards.

Hysterically Funny took the field through fractions of :22.94 and 45.99 and reached the turn with a two length lead over Tacitus and We Rumble.  Approaching the top of the lane, We Rumble tipped off of the rail and split the gap between Tacitus and Hysterically Funny.

We Rumble quickly put that duo away, but Force Of The Shark was gaining through the final furlong and ran on well to secure the place.  It was another length and a half back to Tacitus in third with Model Commander and Hysterically Funny completing the order of finish.

We Rumble improved his record to 8-3-1-3 for earnings of $174.400 and the Rego Park is his first stakes-level victory.  Congratulations to Kingelleinc and We Rumble for their victory in Sunday’s Rego Park at AQU.
