The Ladys Secret Stakes
1 1/16 Miles Dirt Stake Purse $100.00 Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward. At MTH
The Ladys Secret Stakes is an early three-year-old and upward race that shows it’s a good idea to enter three-year-olds against older this early as half the races have been won by three-year-olds. The first edition was won by Technology Sweep, owned by The Sidley Stud who return here with two to try to repeat, Lucky Artist and Brandy Crème. Last year’s winner was Confederate Warrior whose owner Paradise Stable returns looking for the double with Rosi, the only graded stakes winner in the race. Here’s the field:
Horse Owner Odds SRF
Nicolette Alydar Stables *3-1 94
Brandy Creme The Sidley Stud 4-1 94
Delilahs Den Simmer Down Stable 5-1 89
Maiden Jane Winning Link Stables 9-2 94
Rosi Paradise Stable 10-1 92
Zero Rattle Bigchief Stables 8-1 89
Chariots Of Angels D J C Racing Stables 6-1 97
Lucky Artist The Sidley Stud 10-1 91
Mann Royalty Stables 20-1 86
1 Lucky Artist The Sidley Stud 88
Lightly raced three-year-old Lucky Artist has been third three straight including in the $30.00 AZ Oaks at TUP. She is one of five or six deep closers in this race and like most of them having trouble with her timing.
2 Brandy Creme The Sidley Stud 94
Brandy Crème has been closing well recently enough to be considered for hitting the board based on a series of deep close places. Her last out, the three-year-old was a closing for the first time against older in the $100.00 Serenas Song Stakes at MTH and she recently placed third in the in the $200.00 Busher at AQU.
3 Mann Royalty Stables 87
Very lightly raced Mann dropped back to six-furlongs to get her maiden win at PRX. Not much to tell here except her sharp owner and eye-catching works, including 1:36 4/5H mile work.
4 Chariots Of Angels Hunterman Stable 97
Chariots Of Angels only occasionally shows up in stakes races such as this. Back in May 23, she won the $100.00 Allaire Distaff Stakes at PIM and repeated that win in 2025 when the purse had been raised to $125.00. Last year she ran fourth in the ’25 edition of this race and has been bringing home checks ever since that last Allaire Distaff. Her most recent was another front running effort that found her out into third in a pricy CD allowance.
5 Rosi Paradise Stable 92
Rosi is the classic deep closer problem horse with so many mistimed races that you almost expect her to be late for the race because she overslept. Out of 24 starts, she has only managed to win three, and of those only one graded stakes, but a classic deep close it was the Grade III Comely at AQU. It was such a spectacular run that Silky White has sent her ten more races out of the money trying to repeat it.
6 Nicolette Alydar Stables 94
Nicolette doesn’t win many races. But she can. She’s not inconsistent like many deep closers, she’s late on her timing. In a race with as many closers as this, it looks like a cattle call with Nicolette having the best credentials in the race for closing giving her the best chance coming down the lane,
7 Delilahs Den Simmer Down Stable 89
Delilahs Den has been tackling tougher in Grade II company and, in fact, recently finished third in the Grade II Lukas Stakes at SA. For a four-year-old, she’s been quite busy racking up already 25 races with seven wins and nine seconds, a total of 19 in the money performances and is another deep closer dominant racer.
8 Maiden Jane Winning Link Stables 96
Winning Link Stables picked up front runner Maiden Jane by way of claim from Night Rider Stables back in March for $32.00 and her new owners tried the Grade III Santa Maria Stakes at SA and she did not run her usual front running style and faded to seventh. Perhaps an instruction experiment there or just too soon for graded company. Prior to that claim, she had a string of six victories in allowance company, all at a mile.
9 Zero Rattle Bigchief Stables 89
Lightly raced six-year-old Zero Rattle made her first stakes try in the $100.00 Serenas Song Stakes at MTH last out and finished up the track. Prior to that it was an allowance win at FG in a string of in the money performances. I think Bigchief has faith in this one and is going to give her time to develop.
