Nitemare for Older Horses as Three’s Dominate as Expected

The MTH Stakes – Grade II
1 1/8 Mile Turf Stake Purse $200.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st   Nitemare  Smokey Stover  Bravo J

Getting into the stalk this gelding by Mr Creepy took over past halfway and piled on the pressure until he was in a clear lead at the mile pole. He started to waver a little close home and only had a length to spare at the line but never looked in danger of being caught. Of course he is a three year old and this is just another examle of how the older horses can’t compete with weight allowances at HRP, its a shame that this is the case but i doubt Smokey Stover will be complaining.

2nd   Early Retirement  Mb Stables  DeCarlo C P

Stormed home just like he did in the San Francisco Mile  and was only beaten a length in the end from an impossible looking position entering the straight. He will win plenty of races now the three’s are dominating the older horses he just needs to find a race where he is the best three year old.

3rd   Bandito  TwinTowersRacing  Cancel E

Made it a trifecta for the three’s coming home strongly for third. He looks a nice type but is going to have to get closer down the stretch in future to turn his run of losses round.

4th   Ifitsfreeitsforme  Maxmillion Farm  Pedroza B

I guess you would have to say the turn around in form from the Transylvania would have to be put down to the slightly off track. Well that or just another example of the flip flopping of form because the horses are so similar it is hard to win two in a row.
