Once again the wide gate speed push set up a strong pace and this one held the perfect position before exploding in the final furlong for a very impressive win. The gaps certainly opened up at the right times for her but she was head and shoulders above them today and will have given the owner breeder a great thrill. By a one race winner out of a maiden it is not the classic breeding we are led to believe works but we see the usual bloodlines in her family tree that suggests she will end up more like her grandfather than her father. I liked this one before the race and i like her more now and with a conformation that says she will run further i would expect to see her go through to the BC.

2nd   Tokyo Story   Smokey Stover   Murrill M

The first job for her trainer was to get her closer to the early speed and whilst the trainer managed to do that she paid the price by running wide for the entire trip. She never stopped trying though and ran through the line strongly for second suggesting there is plenty more to come from this early type.

3rd   Berry Chai   Allinthegate   Hernandez B J Jr

Ran a cracker in only her second start, running a good spot and looking a possible winner as they hit the stretch before flattening out a little in the final furlong. Both the fillies that beat her had extra starts under their belts and bear in mind she had come from a TUP maiden so this was a huge step up and one she handled very well.

4th    Double Dragon   Fractious   Rocco J S Jr

Another who ran a similar race to Berry Chai she also ony had the one run and that certainly told down the stretch. She had only covered two furlongs in her previous race so she will improve from this race but she looks like her career may be a bit limited so she will want to her back to winning ways soon.
