Notorious Return Takes CT Oaks with Late Move

I thought TwinTowerRacing’s Notorious Return would dominate the CT Oaks (GIII), but a win is a win.  Battling the entire length of the CT lane, the classy filly got the job done in the final few strides, travelling the seven furlongs in 1:212, and bringing home a nice payday in the process.  I overlooked Dialing in this one, but the public made her the third choice and she put up a great fight to the finish,  having the lead late, but settling for the place, a length in front of Deleareo.  It was a neck back to Modesta in fourth, as only three lengths covered this field.  This was a new stakes record.

Notorious Return is a 3yo chestnut filly by Notorious One – Golden Return, by Zero Return, and she was bred by her owner, Twin TowersRacing in Cal.  She now has three wins from fourteen starts, two of those coming this season, and both seasonal wins are of the graded stakes variety.  She now has lifetime earnings of $620.520.

Notorious  Return sat just behind the pace 2p, lost some ground down the backside, responded when asked into the far turn, wore down foe late, won driving.  Dialing tracked the pace, took over into the lane, led inside final sixteen, could not hold off foe.  Deleareo second flight 3p, up to contend into the lane, out-finished, good effort.  Modesta rated, moved up to contend at the furlong marker, flattened out.  Sundress sent from the gate, denied foe on backside, began to fade on the far turn, tired.  Sunrumble pressed pace while wide, up to challenge leader on the backside, wide through far turn, faded.  Story to Tell was never involved.
