Three Year Olds New York Breds

A field of six three year old New York breds has been entered up for the New York Stallion Series Times Square here at Aqueduct Racetrack. It is a nice purse up for grabs here. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Vanderbiltt (9-3-1-2 $155.020), trained by La Canada Racehorses

First up in the field here and this horse is no stranger to the statebred stakes with already placings in some other ones. He should be a lot better in here than his last race and I expect to run a good race.

2. Iguacu Falls (8-2-2-2 $47.960), trained by D J C Racing Stables

One for the wizard D J C Racing Stables and he was third in a stake at Turfway in his last start. I think the statebred company will definitely be able to handle his own in here. He should have a decent chance to win.

3. El Gran Commander (3-1-0-0 $18.940), trained by Threshold

Now up this horse here and he has been out of the money in his last two starts since the win in his first career start. He needs to turn it around big time to have any shot at winning in here.

4. Sexy Back (9-2-1-0 $96.600), trained by Night Rider Stables

A winner at the same exact distance in his last start and that was a first level allowance race at Charles Town on the bull ring. If he likes the big sweeping turn just as much as the bull ring he might have a good chance to win.

5. Awaiting (10-2-3-0 $148.980), trained by Chili King Stables

Here we have a horse that is coming into this race off of a bunch of turf races. Most of them have been stakes and he has been competing decently. Not sure how he will run on the return to the dirt.

6. Big Belly Jockey (9-2-2-2 $83.990), trained by Arindel

Last runner in the field here and he is coming into this race off of a win in a condition claiming race. He is going to be making a jump in class here for sure and the outside post is never that good. He will have to run huge to win here.

Summary

No standouts in this field that’s for sure and there is a case for any one of them. My top choice does go to Sexy Back off of the impressive allowance win at the same distance. Good luck to all in the field.
