In her last three races against Grade III company have not ended the way she hoped for.  Her best performance was in June at DEL in the Grade III OBeah.  In that race she scored a SRF Speed Figure of 98.  In her other two performances that were at a shorter distance than today she shot a 91 and a 92.  Her last win comes against Optional Claimers $80.000 Non Winners of 4 races at WO.  Longshot play here!

She showed nicely in her last performance at FE against open Allowance company for a purse of $18.600 in the mud going today’s distance.  In that race she stalked the pace just missing by ¾ length.  Last year she was racing in Graded Stakes and had placed in the top three.  She needs to get back into it today, if she wants to be a true contender.

3   Duchess                                          Owner: Mb Stables                                    Rosario  J             

Recently ran at MTH in The Pitcher Stakes Grade III  at a 1 1/16 mile where she sat off the pace, and kind of made her move a bit late to finish third.  Prior to that he ran in the Allaire Distaff Stakes Grade III at today’s distance, and she was able to stalk the pace, but did not make a move to get the win.  She would go on to finish second in that race.  In April she ran a huge second in the Grade I Apple Blossom.  She looks sharp enough to fit nicely here, she needs to fire sooner.

4   Mary Jane Skunk                              Owner: Bigking                                       Trujillo E             

Looks like this over achiever trainer, might be looking to light up the tote board with this one.  Fresh off a claim in June where she finished second against NY Breds in an Optional Claimer Non Winners of 2 races at a mile.  She won that class the race before in April.  I think this is a huge step up for her, and will expect the bettors will receive huge payouts if she scores here.

5   Clutch Situation                     Owner: D J C Racing Stables                          Ortiz J L

Struggled her last two performances against Grade III company at BEL.  In the Bed O Roses Handicap Grade III she finished fifth.  Prior to that she ran sixth in the Vagrancy Handicap Grade III.  It is worth noting that you really have to throw these races out since they were both sprints.  She has only gone long 2 times in her career with one career win.  Trainer D J C Racing Stables looks to be shaking things up with her.
