1 Zibanejad Royalty Stables 90
Zibanejad is undefeated by way of his one victory, an easy two-length romp in a LAD maiden.
2 Atomic Moon TwinTowersRacing 87
Atomic Moon has been in big bucks since the day he first stepped hoof on track. His debut was a close third in a high-value maiden at AQU. Then he won a rich maiden at KEE by a clear length. Still chasing the money, he entered the $225.00 Bashford Manor at CD as the lukewarm favourite and jumped into the lead and began to show weakness after a quarter. He stayed involved until the stretch and caved to finish tenth. I doubt the extra furlong today is going to help, but they have a savvy trainer over at TwinTowersRacing that has a way of training tired out of a horse.
3 Silver Freeze Rock Creek 87
Silver Freeze won at first asking in a TUP maiden but failed in a CD allowance race.
4 Dragon Slayer Winning Link Stables 88
Dragon Slayer made his debut second in a rich KEE maiden and then came right to win an even richer maiden at CD by a good length. He then went to the $225.00 Bashford Manor at CD where he was installed as the second favourite, but he didn’t seem to take the race seriously and goofed around at the back of the field as two-year-olds are want to do. If he takes this one seriously, his racing style will make him dangerous indeed.
5 Umoja London Racing 91
Undefeated Umoja won his debut at CT by a handy three-quarter-lengths, then went to MTH and waltzed by two lengths in an allowance race. So, all we have are those two races and decent works and the results of this race to determine his ability, but that’s a little too late for the betting window today.
6 Boutte Royalty Stables 95
Boutte won at second asking in a high-priced SAR maiden after running third in a two-furlong maiden at TAM. He followed that with a third-place finish in the $125.00 Victoria Stakes at WO where he was involved in a blistering battle to the wire. This could well be where the pace comes from today and if they’re not careful the winner comes from.
7 Knight State Our Athletes 89
Knight State won easily by three lengths as the favourite in a LS maiden. He followed that with a dead heat for third in a high-priced CD allowance race. Sharp works.
8 Von Richthofen Mb Stables 91
Von Richthofen won a whopper in his debut st TUP… wire-to-wire, four-length cruise. Impressive enough to attract the top stable in the game which resulted in the sale of the horse by Barcelona Farms for $150.00. Now, here he is to test the wisdom if that sale.
9 Cheveley Fog Barcelona Farms 94
Cheveley Fog was purchased from Mo Mentum Farm for $27.50 as a yearling and conditioned until April when two-year-old racing started when he was sent to a TAM two-furlong maiden in which he finished second beaten only a neck. Impressed, his connections sent him to WO where he broke his maiden in high-priced maiden. Two months later he arrived at SAR where he scored a quarter-length deep close victory in The Grade III Sanford. That was a top-level stakes win and the extra furlong here should only help.
10 Blood Moon Rising Nakamura Stables 90
Blood Moon Rising won a rich WO maiden by an easy two lengths at second asking. He then went to SAR for The Grade III Sanford where forced the pace into the stretch until the race passed him. He was gelded for this race. Nak thinks it will help; it will be interesting to see.
11 Vinny Rocks The Sidley Stud 93
Vinny Rocks won at second asking at CT. Then he tried the $125.00 Royal Palm Juvenile on the turf at GP, but that didn’t go well, although he did show an interest in the grass as he stayed with the leaders around the far turn before giving up. He then returned to the dirt in the $125.00 Victoria Stakes, but that only muddied the water as he went to the back and only passed a few horses in the stretch.
12 Waypoint Nakamura Stables 89
Waypoint is undefeated by way of a romping three-length win in a TUP maiden.
13 Upend My Assets Caseys Llc
Upend My Assets raced his first two starts under the colours of Spinetingling where he was undefeated with a first start win in a FP maiden. He then went to MNR where he breezed to a two-length victory in an Allowance race. He was then sold to his current new owner for $295.00. Would be really interesting if he drew in.
