The six-year-old mare has been a solid and consistent racer throughout her 37-race career, and this was a welcome return to the winner’s circle in a stakes race. Working the race engine well she led from the start and was game to the line repelling all challengers.        

2nd       Starry Starry Nights    D J C Racing Stables Gaffalione T                   1:02.76

Bringing her back to sprints nearly paid off but despite holding a tight stalk to the winner she just couldn’t muster the speed at the end to get to the line in time. She is difficult to weigh up after this run, is she a sprinter or a router? I think the answer to that question is probably either but she just doesn’t have that turn of foot to assert at this level.  Maybe the five-year-old magic dust jar will be full!

3rd        Spotted Cow                 Bigchief Stables           Zayas E J                          1:02.77

Kept grinding to the line but just couldn’t get to the first two in the end. Another solid sprinting effort.

4th        When Doves Cry          Big Jd Racing                 Velazquez J R                1:02.82

Kept going well enough but just couldn’t find the pace to get her into the first three. A solid enough effort but a bit below her best.
