Prada Chalks Up Another Win for the Super Sire

Durante Stakes – Grade III
DMR Race #6 1m Turf Stake
Purse $100.000 For Fillies Two Years Old.

1st Prada             Team 7 Illusions Garcia Mar

There really is no stopping the great Cherokee Sunset. This filly previously just a maiden winner in 3 starts beat the Breeders Cup second and third pretty much as she pleased from a terrible draw. It does make you quickly realise how the juvenile Breeders Cup turf form is so unreliable as the very few chances to qualify tend to get taken by the lucky few who rarely turn out to be the best. It seems the case again as time ran out for this filly to get into the Breeders Cup but there are few that could argue she wouldnt have been very close to winning had she taken part. I suspect we will be seeing more of this filly and i wouldnt mind betting that with the three year old weight allowance next year she will easily make the 2020 BC fields.

2nd Stop Gap             Threshold Gutierrez Mario

It seems funny that to run second in a grade three beating the BC second and third that a horse would only net a $9 profit, but that is the game we have got and this filly having only her third start looks like she is going to make a nice three year old. Stalking the lead she looked like she had a winning break but was collared in the end.

3rd Unmistakable               Mb Stables Tunon M

With the second and third placed BC finishers in the field it seems so HRP that the first of the BC runners home wold be the one that finished eighth. She had another rotten draw today and was running on strongly at the end and i have a feeling that of the draw monster gives this one a fair chance she has a big win in her.

4th Reminisce                      Mb Stables Maldonado E

Beaten a length in the BC and 3 lengths in a grade three from the perfect draw, such is the way form lines work here at HRP. Close enough if good enough she faded away at the end and it has to be said was a little disappointing.
