The Green Card hands out the winner, but it looks like even grandma had her retirement on the winner… they say that placement is a lot of it, and Mb Stables had Present Tense right where she wanted to be… and the chestnut mare didn’t disappoint, staying close to the pace throughout Friday’s Doubledogdare Stakes (GIII), then went right on by the pace as they hit the top of the lane, clearing the field by a length while stopping the timer at 1:41.91 for the mile and a sixteenth distance, over the main KEE oval.  Threshold’s Balius made a late run, but had no answer for the winner, securing the second spot by a length over Honor Is Better, conditioned by Mo Mentum Farm in third, then another length to D J C Racing Stables’ Afar in fourth.  Four lengths covered the field of six.
