Queen Stakes Looks to Crown a Winner

Queen Stakes
TP Race #3 6f Dirt Stake
Purse $125.000 For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward.

1 My Pretty Fractious Hernandez C J 122 —

This isn’t the strongest Stakes race ever run and a lot of the stakes form is drawn wide so that brings this lightly raced four-year-old right into it. It took her while to break her maiden, but she had been consistent in the lead up and certainly seems to be improving as she gets older. She was bought by Fractious as a one race winner for $30.000 so the trainer clearly thought there was something there and she didn’t run badly in her first start with the new barn when fifth in a stakes race at AQU. Her works are saying that there is far more to come it is just a matter of getting the formula right and if anyone is going to achieve that it is this stable.

2 Lady She Night Rider Stables Saez G 122 —

Another lightly raced one, this mare is now five and has only had fourteen starts with seven wins. Formerly owned by Delta, many of those wins came at the fair tracks, but this new owner doesn’t tend to operate at that level and throws her straight into stakes company to see what she is really made of. I am not sure she has proven herself at this level yet, but a top four finish wouldn’t surprise.

3 So Classy Asgar Beschizza A 122 —

Twenty-one starts for three wins doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence but she is proven at this level and this trip suits. She has raced over trips from 5 furlongs to 9 and done well, so consistency isn’t her problem but maybe the heart in a finish is. If the trainer and jockey can convince her to run like she did at FG at the beginning of the year she may have a chance but is another who may well have a better chance of minor prizes.

4 Stick Low Luz International Corrales G 122 —

Well, you can’t doubt this one’s heart with four wins in a row and only one of them by further than a neck. She is certainly in good form and was placed at this level as a two-year-old, so has the ability too. She will be fancied to keep the streak going but this is a step up.

5 Moment To Dream Alydar Stables Conner T 124 —

Carrying a penalty for a narrow win in the Coady Stakes last time, she is a chance on her works and the fact that she is certainly improving with age. This is the sort of race where little things can make a difference though, so she has to overcome her extra weight if she is going to win.

6 Furlough Maxmillion Farm Cedillo A 122 —

A very good third in the Goforwand Handicap at the end of last year over a trip that may have been a furlong too far, she looks well in here and will have some wide gate speed push to help her into the lead where she likes to be. She will be vulnerable at the end but may be quick enough to get a winning break.

7 Boudicca Calia Stable Jimenez A 122 —

Decent enough form but like pretty much all of these is running in her maximum grade. Pretty consistent in sprints, it won’t take a superstar to win this, so she has every chance.

SUMMARY

Not an easy race because these horses look very similar in ability with the exception of a couple. The jockeys will play a role and for that reason, I would be going for 1,6 and 7 to trifecta the race, in which order I don’t know.
