Ranking Official Looks Tough in The Empire Classic at BEL

NY Bred males will be going the classic mile and an eighth distance on the Big Sandy main track and we look at the field for The Empire Classic, to be run Saturday here in Elmont NY.

I’m looking for Ranking Official to come right back off of that NY-bred stakes win in his most recent, and he will be my top pick today.  He beat similar at today’s distance, so why get off of his current for where he’s won three of five seasonal starts.  I’ll look for Shot Blocker to run another big race today.  He’s another with three wins on the 2020 season and has been facing open company, so state-bred horses makes for a nice fit as he looks for a black-type win.  High Fives has been sharp of late and just missed in the OK Derby (GIII) where he was just a half-length back, so, you have to give him a big shot here today.
