The Green Card just keeps handing out winners and gave the exacta in Saturday’s San Pasqual Stakes (GII), here at SA…  and sent off as the second favorite in this GII main track stakes, Nakamura Stables’ Real One kept the barns hot hand going, closing wide down the lane to win by a length while coving the mile and an eighth in 1:473.  Big Bang Raj showed good speed throughout but settled for the place with 17/1 shot Catch A Buzz grabbing the show over Toothpaste in fourth.

Real One mid-pack 3p, moved up in a rush as the field entered the far turn, took over into the lane 5p, kept to task, pulling away late.  Big Bang Raj pressed the pace, up to take over through the far turn, could not go with eventual winner late, good effort.  Catch A Buzz rail trip, mid-pack to the lane, some late interest.  Toothpaste trailed, passed tiring rival late.  Penalty Shot wide trip, contested the pace to the top of the lane, tired.  Hard Discretion sent from the gate, set the pace to the far turn, folded.  Bodemister was never involved.
