Redheads Conquer The My Dear

The FL Sire Stakes- My Dear ($400.000 Purse)
GP- For Fillies Two Years Old Foaled In FL
One Mile and One Sixteenth on the Dirt
September 28, 2019

The small field of five was left seeing red, as in the two red heads that finished one-two, convincingly over their other three rivals. In the stretch, winning trainer Mb Stables could sit back and relax, knowing that in addition to Relax, he has these two talented FL-breds that run in these FL Sire Stakes races. Ragin Redhead would defeat Red Headed Lady by half a length, making Mb Stables a three-time winner of the race. Jockey P Lopez wins for the first time. Congratulations to them! The time of the win was 1:42.87. Let’s have a look!

(1/4 Mile- :23.80)- Save To Maps, from Aml Racing, will be the early leader and opens up by a length. Behind her, running side by side, we have longshot Zealous Kruz on the inside for Estero Farms, and on the outside is the eventual winner, Ragin Redhead, who comfortably stalks the pace for Mb Stables. Fellow red head, Red Headed Lady, from Mb Stables, is two lengths behind her. On the rail to her inside is the one we picked, and post time favorite from Jive Inc., Made In America.

(½ Mile- :47.75)- For the second quarter of the race, the entire field is content to maintain their position, so there is not anything new to report on at this time. This continues throughout the backstretch run, and into the top of the turn. At that point, the redheads were each beginning to map out their plan to get by Save To Maps, but it had not quite happened yet.

(Top Of Stretch, 1.5F To Go)- Ragin Redhead methodically completed the pass for the lead by the midway point of the turn, and by the top of the stretch, her lead was nearly a length. Save To Maps was trying to stay in the mix, and longshot Zealous Kruz was still looking good, as she also looked to get by Save To Maps. Red Headed Lady had advanced her position, and was about to make a three wide move, but had two and a half lengths to make up on her stablemate. Made In America was causing a lot of groans in the grandstands as she was lacking response, still.

(Finish- 1:42.87)- There would be no catching Ragin Redhead in the stretch, but she did get a challenge very late. For Mb Stables, he could just sit back and enjoy it, because that challenge was from Red Headed Lady, who made a strong move, and got to within half a length. Save To Maps tired a bit, but still held on for third, over the disappointing Made In America, and longshot Zealous Kruz.

About The Winner- Ragin Redhead, trained by Mb Stables, and ridden to victory by P Lopez, is a two year old filly by Red Headed Divo, and out of Needle N Spoon. She was bred in Florida as a second quarter two year old by TwinTowersRacing, and acquired by Mb Stables still unraced in private sales for $65.000. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her second in four starts, and first stake win. Her career earnings are now $277.600.
