Reflex Action Heads Up ONT Fashion Stakes

ONT Fashion Stakes – GIII

$175.00 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward – Six Furlongs – Dirt
Woodbine – October 17, 2026

With little chance of rain north of the border this Saturday, it is expected that a field of nine fillies and mares will enter the gate for the fifteenth running of the G3 ONT Fashion Stakes. The race is open to three year olds and up but only two sophomores put their name in the entry box to challenge their older rivals despite the race being very kind to three year olds in the past with ten previous winners. The stakes record is held by one of those ten three year old victors. Queen Mother won the race for Wood Duck Stables in 2022 and crossed the wire in a final time of 1:09.13.

1. Reflex Action (The Sidley Stud, W.T. Buick)

Five year old mare is certainly battle hardened having had a steady diet of graded stakes competition throughout her career. She is a multiple graded stakes winner who is on the verge of crossing over the $1,000.00 mark in career earnings and a check of any kind in this race would do that. She started the year with a win in the G2 Inside Information. She then had a six race drought where she did not hit the board. Her last race was an encouraging return to form as she finished second in the G2 PID Masters Stakes. She led almost every step of the six and a half furlong race and cuts back to an even six. Seems ready.

2. Plain Pants Party (Saratoga Stud, P. Moran)

She became a stakes winner three months ago when she won The Regret Stakes at Monmouth Park. In two subsequent races she has tried to step up into graded company with only a fifth in the G3 Bernardo Stakes and an eight in the G3 Princess Rooney. That fifth was better than it looks on paper though as she was closing and was only one length off of the winner Grecia Tieta who ran a 100 SRF speed figure.

3. Tranquil Top (Mb Stables, R.W. Walcott)

Comes into this race on a two race winning streak including her initial stakes win in the Garofolo Memorial for PA-breds in her last start. She tries to jump right into graded stakes company off of that win but she is in great form, is working fast and she has the top barn behind her.

4. Queen Kingdom (Serenity Stables, S. Civaci)

She is a stakes winner by virtue of her win in Harris Stakes last year. She also sports graded black type on her resume from her third place finishes in both the G3 Senorita Stakes and G3 Frankel Stakes as a three year old. That is the good news. She has been given plenty of opportunities to make her mare in graded stakes competition but has not yet broken through. In eight graded events those two thirds were her best results. Most of her career has been spent on the grass but she switches to the dirt today. On dirt she has a 50% winning record. Maybe the dirt is where she belongs?

5. Shogun X (Serenity Stables, C. Jordan)

The first of two three year olds in the race. She is very lightly raced with only six starts in her career. She was purchased privately from Aer Stables for $375..00. That price shows that expectations were high but Shogun X has not yet lived up to the promise that was seen. In four starts for her new barn she has not yet hit the board. Her fourth in the G1 Ashland is probably her best race to date but she remains a maiden and would have to take a major step up in form against a tough bunch.

6. Shared Authority (TwinTowersRacing, D. Moran)

Has entered five races in 2026 and has come away with one win in an optional claiming race in May. In her career she has tried stakes company four times and has yet to finish in the top three. She made her graded stakes debut in her last start when she finished G3 Seaway Stakes in August. She finished eight that day. You can draw a line through that as the track was sloppy but like her former Aer Stables stablemate inside of her she needs to show an uptick in form to come through here.

7. Grey Tart (Caseys Llc, Su Singh)

Purchased for $100.00 a month ago this is the second three year old in the field and she has an impressive record of eight in the money finishes in her eleven races. She has made one start for her new barn which was a sixth place finish in The Miss Southern OH Stakes which was at 1 1/16 miles on the grass. She makes a complete u turn now and shows up in a graded sprint on the dirt. Sprinting on the dirt has been where her best results have come including two stakes placings in restricted stakes. Ignore her last as she fits much better here.

8. Didia (Night Rider Stables, S. Chernetz)

Bought for $25.00 last December she has been brought along slowly making four solid starts for her new barn. Her one win for Night Rider Stables came in a $32.00 claiming race at Saratoga but her other three starts were in smaller stakes races where she did rather well. She finished less than a length back of the winner in the Kist Stakes then was third in the Swihart Memorial Stakes. Her best race by far was her last where she ran third in the Satin and Lace Stakes earning a 97 SRF speed figure and only losing by a half length. Doesn’t jump out at you on paper but could be sneaky good.

9. Daisen (London Racing, E.J. Wilson)

The lucky winner of the outside gate draw comes into the race with a two race winning streak. She won her first stakes race in her last start. She won the Liberty Bell by a nose but she is also a nose away from being a graded stakes winner. She lost the G3 ONT Fashion Stakes by a nose in 2025. She was a nose away from joining dead heat winners in this very same race a year ago so she is obviously very capable of winning this. Why not? Revenge stories are always good.

Reflex Action on the rail has to be the pick in this field but she should find no shortage of challengers. Tranquil Top should continue her good form so put her second with Daisen and Plain Pants Party.
