Regret Nothing Looks Strong in The Elusive Quality

The Elusive Quality – NG
4/25/20
BEL Race 2 7F – Turf
Purse $125.000
Four Year Olds and Up

A field of nine turf sprinters has been entered up to tackle this years running of the Elusive Quality over the big sweeping Belmont turf course. A nice field has been entered up so lets take a look at the field.

1. Graceful (24-5-5-4 $309.680), trained by Nakamura Stables

First up in the field here is a horse who is coming into this race off of a win in a wide open allowance at Santa Anita on the downhill turf course. She won almost at this same distance so if he backs up that last win he’ll be tough.

2. Pxg (14-5-2-0 $244.900), trained by Mb Stables

Runner for Mb Stables here and he is also coming out of a wide open allowance at Santa Anita where he was a narrow second going a mile. He is pretty talented but I do think he is better around two turns than at sprinting.

3. Regret Nothing (26-7-4-2 $919.800), trained by Maxmillion Farm

A former Kentucky Derby starter turned turf horse now and he has even turned to sprinting where he has been pretty successful. He won the Sensational Star last time and ran a huge SRF number so if he backs it up he should have a big chance.

4. Gallant Man (12-3-1-3 $142.960), trained by TwinTowers Racing

Now to this horse who is coming into this race off of a seventh place finish in the grade one Kilroe Mile. He has tried a couple stakes before but there has been no success from him in any of those races so I don’t know if he can win this.

5. Realization (10-2-2-4 $110.500), trained by Jokerjoes

Coming into this race here off of a sixth place finish in the grade three San Simeon. A bad turf course probably did not help much that day either but he is one that has also tried stakes before with no good runs so he has got to step it up in here.

6. Quickly (26-7-5-5 $292.280), trained by Fractious

One coming from the Frac Attack barn here and he is coming into this race off of a huge win at Gulfstream where he ran a pretty quick time. Now he has to stretch his speed out to seven furlongs which I think he can do but he is going to have to be up to the task.

7. Overhauled (14-5-1-2 $197.690), trained by Gdp Inc

Another one who is coming out of the grade three San Simeon at Santa Anita and he was a very fast closing fifth place that day. I think the seven furlongs will definitely be good for his late running style in here.

8. Titusville Twister (14-5-3-3 $155.580), trained by RNP Stables

Well a recent stakes winner here when he won the Rail Splitter at Gulfstream but that was starter stakes and that was also on the dirt. He is going to have to improve a lot and show he is better on the turf.

9. Apocalypse Rising (12-4-2-1 $111.680), trained by Gdp Inc

Final runner in the field here and second for Gdp Inc and he is coming off of a win in a starter allowance. Before that he was fifth in the Rail Splitter but it was on the dirt. He will have to step it up quite a bit to win this spot.

10. Just A Reserve (16-4-2-2 $110.060), trained by Spankys Barn

Scratched

Summary

No standout in this field to me so it will make it a competitive race and the winner will have to be on top of his game to take this one home. Regret Nothing does look the most likely to win to me so that will be my top pick. Good luck to all in the field.
