                               Purse $600.000
                        Three Year Olds and Up

1st Residue, trained by Smokey Stover

One of the three year olds in the field and he got the money in here. He sat pretty far back in the early part of the race but he really came rolling down the lane to get up and nab the win. It was really a breakout performance and now he is in the Breeders Cup Dirt Mile. He ran in 1:21.23 and earned $360.000 for the win.

2nd In Captivity, trained by Mb Stables

First of the Mb Stables finishers but it wasn’t the one I thought would finish in front of the other one. He sat pretty close to the pace and was actually in front for a little bit before getting caught by the winner. He ran really good and has ran so many good races in a row it’s time he gets his win.

3rd Moon Landing, trained by Mb Stables

My top pick ran another very good race and he only got beat by a length. He came from a little bit of a ways back and came with a nice run but just couldn’t get there in time. He always runs such a consistent race and he is always there in the top three it seems. He’ll be ready for the Breeders Cup Sprint for sure.

4th Derby Pip, trained by RNP Stables

Now this horse ran very good too and he came from pretty far back to do so. He sat eleventh in the earlier stages of the race and came with a nice rally to get up for fourth and he only got beat by a length also. He ran a really nice race and didn’t get beat far at all so he will be tough next out also.

Summary

Well the winner was a horse I wasn’t really expecting to win but he ran a very big race to get the win. He ran his race though and got the money so you got to give him the credit for beating all of these quality runners. He is now in the Breeders Cup Dirt Mile if he goes there. Congratulations to Smokey Stover and Residue.
