KEE- For Fillies Two Years Old
One Mile and One Sixteenth on the Dirt
October 2, 2026

The Alcibiades would give us a showdown between the winners of the DMR Debutante and Spinaway, each Grade 1’s held last month in a race that not only would send its winner to the BC Juvenile Fillies, but it would have to make them considered one of the favorites to win that race. Retrograde Amnesia was the one who won out at DMR, and while Whispering Pines didn’t do much, this filly stepped up to grab the big win. She was our pick to win, but would go off at 8/1. Serenity Stables is the winning trainer, it is his first Alcibiades trophy. The winning rider is P Lopez, his second such win. Congratulations to them! The time of the win was 1:42.34, a middle of the road such time for the race. Let’s take a look at it!

(1/4 Mile- :22.73)- Taxation Is Theft surges to the front for TwinTowersRacing, and will open up a lead of about a length and a half. That’s where we find her stablemate, Doubtville Gal, running side by side with the Mb Stables- trained Dance Dance Dance. It’s another length to our eventual winner from Serenity Stables, Retrograde Amnesia, who patiently waits for her time to strike while running along the rail. Nearby to her is Greyhound’s Grand And Lucky, then we have a length to Hyperpolarize (Mb Stables), and another to both Taurasi (D J C Racing Stables) and Minnesota Ava (The Sidley Stud). Spinaway winner Whispering Pines (Mb Stables), while Satou (Royalty Stables) and Teraset (Winning Link Stables) trail the field.

(½ Mile- :46.46)- Taxation Is Theft is unchallenged out in front, and now has a two length advantage. Doubtville Gal and Dance Dance Dance still run together, with Retrograde Amnesia right behind them. The one has a little more company alongside her as well Grand And Lucky is still, both Hyperpolarize and Minnesota Ava have advance to make it a four wide group. Satou moves forward a bit, and is now ahead of Taurasi, Whispering Pines, and Teraset.

(Top of Stretch, 1.5F To Go)- Out in front, Taxation Is Theft looks to steal this home with a wire to wire win, but rivals are looking to collect their own dues in the stretch. Her lead is two, and behind her, neither of Doubtville Gal or Dance Dance Dance are mounting a charge, so this leads to the group of four that had behind them showing great cooperation with one another to move down enough lanes in flawless synchrony, leading to them being six wide on exit of the turn. Retrograde Amnesia is in the best shape of the group, but Hyperpolarize also is looking good as each them moves up. Grand And Lucky was not able to match that speed by the top of the stretch, and Minnesota Ava struggled with the outside lane. Further back, we don’t see anything out of the remaining four, with 2/1 favorite Whispering Pines now dead last.

(Finish- 1:42.34)- With a furlong to go, the big lead for Taxation Is Theft was shrinking, but had she opened up enough to hang on? Retrograde Amnesia was not going to let that happen, digging in under the urging of last year’s Alcibiades-winning jockey P Lopez to not only catch the pacesetter, but draw away by a length. Now, she’ll draw forward to the BC Juvenile Fillies, and you have to like her chances there. Taxation Is Theft did hang on for second though, edging out Hyperpolarize in a photo. It’s almost another to fourth place Dance Dance Dance, and yet another to a dead heat between Minnesota Ava and Doubtville Gal. Teraset, Grand And Lucky, Whispering Pines, Taurasi, and Satou round it out.

About The Winner- Retrograde Amnesia, trained by Serenity Stables and ridden to victory by P Lopez, is a two year old filly by Trigun and is out of Remix. She was bred by Patterson Stables as a yearling in Kentucky, and was acquired by Serenity Stables while she was still unraced for $125.00 this April. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her third in five starts, and second stake win, each of which are graded. Her career earnings are now $636.20.
