Rio Tinto Doesn’t See Another Filly on Way to Easy Win in Victoriana

Victoriana Stakes
1 1/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $125.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up Foaled In ON.

1st Rio Tinto, trained by Diablo Diablo

If there was one horse in this race that was going to welcome some rain it was this one and not only did he enjoy the wet he never really saw another horse throughout the race. Making all she just kept galloping and left her rivals looking like they were doing breast stroke some seven lengths behind at the post. Her recent works have been screaming improvement and today she certainly showed that and it will be interesting to see what she does on a fast surface against graded stakes type horses.

2nd Without Snowflakes, trained by Australia Wide

A few years ag these races would have been meat and drink to Australia Wide but their stuttering return took another blow as this eighty dollar claim never looked like making a dent in the winners lead. For now we will have to say the surface was against her and give her one more chance.

3rd World Of Wonder, trained by Team 7 Illusions

All her form had been over sprint distances and after running a distant stalk she looked like this trip was not her friend as she faltered down the stretch and ended up third.

4th And Again, trained by Team 7 Illusions

Strangely this filly started the race favourite but as suspected her stamina in this type of ground was suspect and she faded badly to be last.
