Three Year Olds Fillies NM Breds

Five three year old New Mexico bred fillies have been entered for this years running of the Enchantress Stakes here at Sunland Park. Four of the five are coming out of the La Senora with one new runner to take them on. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. She Done Left Me (8-2-0-1 $52.440), trained by T Boy Racing

First of three in this for myself and early on in her career she was the best two year old in the barn. She likes to close from far back in all of her races so she definitely needs a quick pace to help her out. She was fourth in the La Senora in her last start. Out of all my runners I like her the most over this distance.

2. Sweet Command (8-3-2-1 $82.940), trained by Angelos Stable

Next up here was the runner up in the La Senora about a month ago and she tried to take that field gate to wire that day. That running style has gotten her second in two different stakes races to two other runners in this race. She will need to go slow if she goes to the lead at this distance.

3. Cryptic Lacy (8-2-3-0 $10.460), trained by T Boy Racing

Second of three for me and the only one that did not run in the La Senora here. She crushed a non two claiming field at Penn National last time and ran quick but that was a free track race. The only thing that should help her is she is the only runner in the field that has won over this distance.

4. French Girlfriend (9-2-2-2 $135.670), trained by T Boy Racing

Last of the three for me and she is the only stakes winner I have in this field. She won the NM Classic Lassie at Zia in October but she was beaten and ran third in the La Senora last out. She is a very nice filly but I am not entirely sure if she can handle this distance.

5. Cream Soda (6-2-1-0 $87.320), trained by Greeko Holdem

Final runner in the field here and this is the filly that went ahead and won the La Senora a month ago. She really stepped out in that race and won very nicely but the distance is a concern here. Her only start over a mile or more was a not so great fourth at Golden Gate in a maiden event. She will be tough though.

Summary

Well it is a short field but it is very difficult to pick a winner because none of these has ever been tested over this distance before. The only winner over a mile is the weakest looking entry on paper so an upset could happen in here. Cream Soda is my top choice based off the stakes win. Good luck to all in the field.
