Safecracker is Too Tough in The Dandy

The Dandy – Grade II
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $600.000 Open 3 Year Olds.

1st Safecracker, trained by Yahudi Stables
This inconsistent type put his very best foot forward today once again showing
the random nature that these three year old races have taken this year. Well beaten
in the Stephens after a couple of OK overnight runs he showed the type of form that
won hin The Hopeful Stakes as a two year old today. Running from a stalk position
he hit the front with a furlong or so to run and whilst he was tying up at the end
he had enough left to hold on for a neck win. This was his first win over a route
trip and the slowish early pace certainly helped. His last workout was certainly the
clue here as it usually is and it will be interesting to see how he goes in his next
race.

2nd Moment Of Madness, trained by Mb Stables
This super consistent sort once again ran his heart out and very nearly collared the winner
at the post. Running his usual style he continued his impressive season and must gain some
compensation for these excellent money finishes before long.

3rd The Perfect Day, trained by Pan Farms
Ran on strongly to be third coming at the first two latest of all and just running out of
track. This was a good run and he looks like the type that will love the BC Classic trip.

4th Phooeys Warrior, trained by Blushing Meadows
Ran an amazing race considering this was only his fifth start and he only has a maiden win
to his name. Running on well from off the pace he is clearly an improving type and the sky
could be the limit if he continues this progress.

SUMMARY
A nice winner that got the run of the race just having enough of a break to hold on at the
end. The second and third could be more BC Classic types but Safecracker could well be a big
Dirt Mile hope. I liked the fourth horses run and he should go in the little black book.
