Secrether Takes The Vagrancy Handicap for Fifth Consecutive Win

Secrether had been beating up on lessers and you know what, she beat up on graded horses as well.  the Elki Stable trained bay filly sat chilly through the first three furlongs, motored up when asked and got home in front by a length to take Saturdays Vagrancy Hcp (GIII).  She was heavily backed by the public, going off as the .25 favorite, and proving to be the write choice.  Deliberate Miss tracked the pace throughout but had to settle for the second spot, two lengths in front of Malagan Girl, with early pace setter Sweet Catomine tiring to be fourth.  The final running time was 1:16.33 for the six and a half furlongs, and the track was listed as Good.


Secrether is a 4yo bay filly owned and bred by Elki Stables and she was bred in Cal.  this was her ninth win from fifteen starts, and she now has earnings of $186.810.  This was her fifth consecutive win and her first graded stakes victory.

Secrether broke in hand, allowed to settle off of the pace while unhurried, moved up when asked on the turn 4p, engaged foe at the furlong marking, pulling away late, won driving.  Deliberate Miss taken back after the start while saving ground from an inside position, moved up on the turn, lead near the furlong marker, headed, game to the finish.  Malagan Gril forced the pace 2p, brief lead into the lane, flattened out late.  Sweet Catomine broke alertly, lead to midway on the far turn, could not go on, tired.
