Nakamura Stables may have had a good feeling heading into Sunday’s $150.000 Winter Memories at AQU, but, suffice to say, his secret announced her presence with authority in the 8.5 furlong inner turf contest. Breaking quickest of all, Ihaveasecret went to the front and never encountered a challenge as she led them all the way before crossing the wire in a stakes-record time of 1:39.89.
From stall four, Ihaveasecret quickly cleared the field and went about her business. She was followed by Hint Of Rubicon and Test Code Party as Millie Vanillie went to the rear of the four-horse field. Through fractions of :23.51, :46.76, and 1:09.91 the only thing that changed was Hint Of Rubicon got away from Test Code Party and was a clear second through the lane. The only drama was how much Ihaveasecret would win by and would she be able to eclipse the stakes record set just last year. The answers were almost four lengths and a resounding, “Yes!”
Ihaveasecret now has $146.780 in earnings and a career record of 7-4-2-0. If she stays in training and continues her forward momentum, she could definitely be in line for a very big 4yo campaign. Congratulations to her and Nakamura Stables on their victory in the Winter Memories at AQU.
