Seminole to Beat the Odds in SSM Classic

SSM Classic
GP   Race #7   1 1/8m   Dirt   Stake
statebred  Purse $200.000  For Four Year Olds And Upward Foaled In FL.

1 Caught A Ghost, trained by Hambletonian Stable
If anything advertises the fact that the state bred scene is pretty much a waste of time then this race does. Two trainers, one with 75% of the field and whilst it could be an interesting race i doubt there will be more than two people who will be tuning in to watch it. Not the horses or the trainers fault though and this the first runner of the 3 entries from Hambletonian Stable. Bought from Mb stables he won a little allowance race at TAM but couldnt repeat last time out at SUN so may find this race a little beyond him, i feel he may be sacrificed as a front runner here.

2 Seminole, trained by On The Map Racing
Though this one is one against three he may turn out to be the winner as there is a bit to like about him. A close second in the OK Derby last year and then another good second in the Discovery Handicap that form is good enough on its own but some lightening works suggest there is even more improvement in him.

3 On The Grind, trained by Hambletonian Stable
A nice enough winner of a couple of overnight claimers he switched to Allowance company last time and ran a good second. He may turn out to be the best of the entires from the stable.

4 Fat Lady, trained by Hambletonian Stable
Probably the best horse in the field he has to carry 130Lbs which will probably stop him winning. The winner of three grade three’s and a grade two he did carry a penalty to victory in the ONT Derby but i feel this may be a step too far.

SUMMARY
Seminole looks the winner by the fact that he gets six pounds from the best horse. Fat Lady may lump his weight into second with his two stable companions fighting it out for third.
