Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares NY Breds
Now the filly and mare side of the New York bred stakes day on the turf and this race drew a decent sized field of seven. Not a huge field so let’s take a look at the runners in here.
1. Shalakar (13-2-2-2 $110.600), trained by John Henry
First up in the field here and this runner is coming into this race off of a second in a first level allowance at Louisiana Downs. She could have a little shot at winning this spot.
2. Queen Command (18-5-5-1 $373.460), trained by Allinthegate
One of the top runners in the race here and she was just narrowly beaten by a nose in a New York bred stake race at Saratoga. She should be awfully tough in here if the layoff does not affect her.
3. Diva Delite (9-4-2-1 $151.880), trained by D J C Racing Stables
Probably the speed of the speed in this field she almost always shows quite a bit of speed and most of the time she has ran good with that style. The distance is a big question mark here though.
4. Makaha (20-3-4-5 $45.990), trained by Paradise Stable
Next up in the field here and she is coming into this race off of a third in a four horse field stakes race. She looks outmatched here because she had been in the claiming ranks for a while.
5. El Gran Polar (13-4-2-2 $147.810), trained by Emerald Racing Inc
And now to this fully who is coming into this race off of a fifth in an open stakes race. She has done pretty good when with the statebreds so I think she may have an outside chance.
6. Win Silly (9-2-2-2 $158.880), trained by Team 7 Illusions
A stakes winner on the year here and she is coming off of a ninth in the grade one First Lady. She should appreciate the class relief. Could win this race with a good effort.
7. Chai Appeal (13-3-5-2 $87.330), trained by La Canada Racehorses
Last up here and she is also one who likes the show quite a bit of speed. From this outside post she might end up on the lead I think. She will have to work out a good trip to win this one from the outside.
Summary
Pretty solid field here with a couple of chances to win this race. My top choice Queen Command to take all the money in this spot. Good luck to all in the field.
