Seven To Tackle the King Glorious

The King Glorious Stakes – NG
12/15/19
LA Race 2 1M – Dirt
Purse $100.000
Two Year Olds CA Breds

A field of seven California bred two year olds will be lining up to take old this years running of the King Glorious Stakes over the Los Alamitos surface. The race is around two turns so these youngsters will need to be able to run around two turns. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. One Zero (2-1-0-0 $36.000), trained by Chili King Stables

First runner in the field here and he is coming into this race off of a win in a California bred maiden special weight going a mile at Del Mar. He ran very good that day and this is a logical spot to try and run in here. He’ll have to show more improvement to win here but that’s not out of the question.

2. Reckoning (5-1-1-2 $77.200), trained by Mo Mentum Farm

Next runner in the field here and he is coming into this race off of a nose defeat in an optional claimer at Santa Anita. The race before that is when he broke his maiden in a California bred maiden special weight at Santa Anita. He has a win going two turns and I think he has a big shot here.

3. Geronimo (5-1-0-1 $75.000), trained by Nakamura Stables

Now to this horse who is grade one placed on the year when he ran third in the Pharoah at Santa Anita earlier this year. He has been in graded stakes company his last three starts so this is a drop down in class. I think he can win if he runs his best race here.

4. Laugh It Up (6-2-0-1 $64.390), trained by Arindel

The only two time winner in the field here and he is coming into this race off of a win in a first level allowance race at Del Mar. The only problem with this runner is that he is very quick and has only ran around one turn so far. He is a nice horse but I’m not sure the speed he has will carry around two turns.

5. Crimson Sun (6-1-2-1 $94.670), trained by Allinthegate

The high earner in the field here and he has never ran out of the money in his career. He is stakes placed and nearly graded stakes placed also. But he has also never went farther than six furlongs so the distance is a huge question mark. He needs to get the distance to have any shot.

6. All Day (2-1-0-1 $53.690), trained by Rampage Stable

Next runner in the field here and he is coming into this race off of a win in a maiden special weight at Chruchill Downs on an off track. In both of his starts he has went straight to the lead and opened up early but if he does that in here I don’t think he can hang around and win.

7. Ideal Phooey (2-1-1-0 $28.800), trained by Luz International

Final runner in the field here and this runner won a maiden forty dollar claimer in his last start where he claimed by Luz International. He has not went around two turns yet and he will have to overcome the outside post in here so it looks like a very tough task to overcome.

Summary

A pretty nice bunch of two year olds have been entered up here for this race and they pretty much all have a decent chance to win. My top pick is Geronimo especially if he can run back to that grade one third place finish. Good luck to all in the field.
