Short Field for The Gallorette Stakes

The Gallorette Stakes – GIII
5/18/19
BEL Race 5 1 1/16M – Turf
Purse $150.000
Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

A group of only five fillies and mares has been entered for this years running of the grade three Gallorette here on Preakness day. Although it is a short field there is some pretty nice runners in here. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the field.

1. Warmed Up (7-3-0-1 $111.520), trained by Mb Stables

The first runner in the field right here is entering this race off of a win in an optional claiming race at Parx where she won by three quarters of a length. She is a stakes winner already last year as a two year old so she has some class for sure. She has a chance to win this.

2. Adsila (8-3-0-0 $90.510), trained by Night Rider Stables

Here is the only non three year old in the race right here and this filly is coming into this race off of a win in statebred optional claimer at Aqueduct in her last start. She pretty much went gate to wire that day and she usually shows quite a bit of speed. A slow pace will help her out if she goes to the lead.

3. Broomsticks Edge (10-2-1-3 $73.220), trained by Gdp Inc

This next runner right here is coming into this race off of a very easy win in an allowance race at Santa Anita in which she won by four lengths in wire to wire fashion. She usually likes to show speed so a slow pace will help her put on the lead if she goes there. She is dangerous when she is the lone speed.

4. Hopewell Tradition (6-2-1-0 $136.400), trained by Team 7 Illusions

And now to this filly right here who is coming into the race off of a three length win in a statebred stakes race at Golden Gate in her last start. She romped that day and that was a big performance by her for sure. If she runs that same type of race in here she will be tough to beat.

5. Ice Cream Truck (9-3-1-1 $141.600), trained by First Street Stables

And the final runner in the field of five right here is coming into this spot off of a sixth place finish in the grade three Providencia Stakes at Santa Anita. She usually likes to close from the clouds so a quick pace up front will definitely help her put big time.

Summary

Well it is definitely a very small field for sure and I expected there to be a couple more entries in this spot. Even with the field short field I still think that it is a very good race and they all pretty much have a chance. Good luck to all of the runners in the field.
