8 PIM The Allaire Distaff Stakes (GIII)
$150.000 3yo&Up F&M 1 1/8m Dirt 3yo 119lbs Older 124lbs +penalties
I know we are experiencing some gas shortages, but do we have a horse shortage as well? Only four will be loaded into the gate for The Allaire Distaff Stakes (GIII) on the PRK weekend Friday card and I wonder if this will be a race decided by weight/age as the 3yo’s will be getting a five pound cushion in this one.
I’m giving Tall And Fast the nod here, but she certainly has to do better than her last pair. Those were tough races, The Ashland (GI) and The KY Oaks (GI) and she’s back on short rest as well. That could soften her up, but her best should get the job done.

Her only recent win came vs LA-bred stakes horses, but she’s been close in a number of graded races and it should set her up to be in the middle of this one as well. Tiring third at KEE last out in the Doubledogdare (GIII) and another like that should make her competitive.

She’s back on short rest after running last in the KY Oaks (GI) in her most recent, but her best would certainly make her a huge factor in this one. She won the Alexandra (GII) at FG back in Feb and another like that would be hard to get past. Give her a serious look.

This one won the Rampart (GIII) at GP back in DEC, and was third at SA in the Santa Monica (GII). Fifth and sixth in her last two starts, but those were deep, tough fields and this should be a bit more to her liking. I wouldn’t ignore her.
