Silver Crown Gets Placed on Princess Street

With the absence of Spur Winger Goose ( Hunterman Stable ) being pulled because of off track conditions, the lesson learned by Princess Street ( First Street Stables ) from her Alw47 soft turf event at GP, paid dividends here at Aqueduct.

It was definitely not likely that her trainer made any adjustments to the instructions given to rider Ro Maragh on how to carry out this race. The three year old grey was quick once again to fire to the frontend, and though she would start to feel the sounds of hoofs getting louder as she approached the wire, the win was bitter sweet in just her fifth career start. She seems to be well placed on the grass, and while her last two were not over the top goings, I think she has definitely found the footing she desires. Trainer has 13 victories in ninety-one stakes starts, and I do think we will see more for this trainer this season. Fractional times were 23.86, 47.52, 1:11.15, and closing out at 1:41.95, giving this writer to question if the track was actually in better condition then posted?

Still in search of a maiden victory, runner-up Godofdestiny ( Mfm Stables ) would find herself caught in a duelling battle three lengths back of the leader with Di Leigh ( Gdp Inc ) until she broke free entering the far turn. She held her position all the way to the top of the lane, then she slowly was making up ground on the leader, closing the gap at the wire to within a length. Her trainer should be very impressed with her efforts and the fact that she received attention at the betting windows going off at 11-2 0dds. In her six career starts, she has finished fourth or better. She should hit the winners enclosure next time out.

Doing everything she could to hold off a tough battling Big Bag ( Mb Stables) in the final furlong, Heavenly Love ( D J C Racing Stables ) would capture show money for the event. She actually won an Alw64 event back at Belmont going todays distance, over a good turf, at the same time as todays race. Has struggled a bit in stakes events, an she may need a couple of allowance wins to get her game face on for this level. Big Bag would hang for the final purse share.

Rounding out this affair would be Major Ballerina ( Court Jester Racing ), Pink Art (First Class Stables ) and early challenger Di Leigh.
