Six Pack Attack in This Year’s Sands Point

Sophomore fillies once again compete in this seasons Gr. II The Sands Point. All runners are coming to this event without a victory in there most recent races, some close to victory, but it should make for a wide open competition.

  • The Sands Point ( Gr. II ) Purse- $200.000
  • Aqueduct Racetrack- For Fillies Three Years old
  • One Mile and One Eighth- Inner Turf course
  • October 12th, 2019

Six competitors have shown up here at the Duck looking to get back to there winning ways in early season. With the exception of Lower Merion ( Chili King Stables), all have two wins this year to their credit and would like this event to be number three.

Weight: 122 pounds

Changes: Z Doggy One– Adds Lasix.

1 Z Doggy One ( Wolfs Den ) Maragh Ro – Maybe a more suitable name for this black filly would be ” Back The Trailer Up!”. Has found a new home three times in a row leading up to this trainer taking charge. Stepped right up to a OpClm80 non winners of four, and closed from nine back to within two lengths at the wire. Has continuously closed in her last three events, and the Lasix is added. Must have been educated with his most recent seven furlong work. Will be charging.

2 Tightrope Walker ( Diablo Diablo ) Davis D – Has yet to find a victory on the grass in her last four attempts and she earned both her wins on the dirt going a mile and seventy. Her last two with on different inner turf courses, and she seems to need to be a little closer placed to make any late push effective. Rider has a better turf record to dirt, so hope that will help. Her last three have all been top Graded company events, so may show something for a share here.

3 Keep The Treasure ( Mb Stables ) –Alvarado J. – Finished third three starts ago in the Gr.I BEL Oaks a length ahead of her inside runner here today. Her most recent was the mile and an eighth Gr. II Mabee Stakes where she made up ground late to place fifth two lengths shy. A bit of a lighter field to contend with here, but Alvarado is back in the irons, so that’s a good sign the trainer likes his talents. Factor into the top three.

4 Lower Merion ( Chili King Stables ) Cancel E. – Has just one lone victory this season with that coming in April over the downhiller at SA. Here most recent mile and a mile and an eighth events found her picking up two place finishes for her efforts. Earned a 96 SRF two starts ago in the Solana Beach Stakes where she missed by only a quarter of a length. Possibly another place finish once again here.

5 She Great ( Team 7 Illusions ) Cohen D– Made the switch back to the sod back in late June and the timing was perfect as she walked away with back to back victories in an Alw87 and then the $75 Cinncinnatian. Her two most recent affairs were at the top of the heap for competition as she earned a 96 SRF two starts ago going a mile and three sixteenth. Has a quick work recently and makes me wonder if he will be out fast on the front end. Factor

6 Ye Senorita ( Estero Farms ) Franco M.- Has probably one of the top jockeys in the irons for this event, and she attempted her first mile race on the grass in her most recent Alw90 race at the Spa. Her two wins have come over the turf, but both were at six and a half or less. This will be her longest race to date with only six starts to her career, Her sire did produce last years BC Juvenile Turf winner Devils Tower, so turf racing is in her blood. Like her chances.
