Serena Song ($125.000 Purse)
TP- For Fillies Three Years Old
Six Furlongs on the Dirt
March 28, 2026
A field of six will be headed to the starting gate for the Serena Song, an ungraded stake that runs at TP for the third time. The previous two editions were also held for a $150.000 purse. In last year’s race, Hunt The Stars won the race for Panionios Racing, and was sold less than a week later to John Henry. She’s since run in graded races for her new trainer, and despite some close calls, has not been back to the winner’s circle. Here’s a look at this year’s field:
1- Party At The Shire (Nakamura Stables, ridden by J McKee)- This filly is off to a great start for her career, scoring four wins in six races. Her victories are all in overnights at tracks like TAM or FL. She’s also been in two ungraded stakes, each at TAM, but has come up short in those races. Is she going to have a breakthrough at this level here, as the field could be more to her liking?
2- Z Jinxed (Panionios Racing, ridden by L Contreras)- Only has made two starts in her young career, debuting at BTP before breaking her maiden against WV-breds last month in a four-horse field. We don’t know yet if Z Jinxed is the “one” yet, but she does show good works, and the trainer will be looking for their second straight win. This is certainly a test for the filly, but it’s also not an unreasonable ask.
3- Ayita (Pan Farms, ridden by L Machado)- The Cherokee Thriller won once in her first five starts, and hit the board in all of those races. Once she did break her maiden, the trainer moved her up to the stakes ranks and the three results have not been pretty. While the first two graded attempts can be forgiven, as this field is not the Alcibiades, her dud last time out in the $125.000 Gasparilla Stakes is not encouraging. She’s had time to think about it and will hope to bounce back.
4- Killer Conquistador (Greyfriars Stable, ridden by F De La Cruz)- Had a strong two-year-old season, hitting the board in six of eight races, including second place efforts in both the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes and the Grade 1 DMR Debutante. Ended up getting into the BC Juvenile Fillies but only beat one rival that day. Won the $225.000 Fern Creek after that but was sold about two months later by Mb Stables for $175.000. Now, while I know Mb will let something get away from him from time, he’s not one to just dump off a talented two-year-old with potential. She hasn’t looked good in her two races since the sale. Still time for a rebound, though.
5- Mexican Pride (Mb Stables, ridden by G Corrales)- A new addition to Mb Stables, as the trainer claimed her for $50.000 last month. In her previous five races, she earned three wins, all coming in overnights at either PRX or SA. This will be the first time that she has run at this level, and she has been working very well in anticipation of this. Her conformation is not the greatest, so Mb will want to get everything he can out of her without wasting races.
6- Pointed Out (D J C Racing Stables, ridden by A Beschizza)- In her last race, Pointed Out was pointed to a KYO prep, but struggled in the Grade 2 Alexandra Stakes. She has made ten starts thus far, and she’s arguably more consistent when sprinting than she is going long. I do say arguably, because her longer races are graded races, and her sprints have been either ungraded like this one, or in overnights. Capable of getting it done.
Prediction: 1-6-5-3
