A field of six sophomore fillies will be headed to the turf course to go a flat mile in The Tepin this Saturday and I’m going to keep this process simple.  I landed on Audrey Hepburn today, a horse that I’ve had my eye on for quite some time.  Only two wins from eleven starts but she’s seen some tough fields… including the BC Juv F Turf where she was eleventh.  She won a stakes at SA and was close in the two graded races since, so this shapes up to be a good spot for her and I’ll just concentrate on the easy win here.

Here’s The Field –

1
Shake The Stick    Nakamura Stables    Velazquez J R   122   5/1

Struggled after showing early speed in the Regret (GIII) over this track last out.  The shorter distance may help and she certainly seems to have some want for a soft surface.  She will need her best to be in the thick of this one despite showing four wins from nine starts.

2
Five Star Queen    Mb Stables    Court J K   122   7/2

Nice Alw score here at the Twin Spires getting the win by a head in a game run down the lane.  That was at a bit more distance, so he has that checked off… and broke maiden at a mile.  She’s done well on off-tracks so I’d look for a big effort here today, especially if it does rain.

3
   Galabella    D J C Racing Stables    Sanchez M J   122   5/1

Two wins from her last three starts, and she won her only turf start so there’s some real up-side in all of that; however, she’s really never run with horses like this.  That last out win was at 5f on the TUP turf and her maiden win was at FE on the main track.  I think she will be another that will need her best to be in the fray here.

4
Audrey Hepburn    Waldo    Santana R Jr   124   5/2

A couple of lengths and this one would be on top of the world right now… just missed in the Appalacian (GII) at KEE then more of the same last out in the Senorita (GIII) at SA, both getting beat by three-quarters of a length.  Won the China Doll at SA… so you get the idea, she’s been on top of her game and should be given a big shot in this one as well.

5
What Theres More    Patterson Stables    Bejarano R   122   7/2

Nice claim, four back, when taken for just $20.000.  Since then, two wins, a second and a third, so the payoff is completed, plus some.  She was third on a soft turf course at GP last out in the Powder Break where she looked like a winner turning for home, only to get caught.  Still, she looks to be improving and should fare well here.

6
Twizt And Shout    Whitewater Stables    Baze T C   122   6/1

Got the maiden win out of the way over this track and with a nice purse.  Nabbed from a $25.000 mdn claimer prior to that so this hostile takeover was well worth the cost.  She’s another that looks to be on the improve and her best races may be in front of her.
