Slipdamaloo Wins The Natalma Stakes

The Natalma Stakes – GI [BC]
9/15/19
WO Race 4 1M – Turf
Purse $250.000
Two Year Olds Fillies

1st Slipdamaloo, trained by Aer Stables

A huge win for this one eight here as she came from very back in the field to run by them all and pull away to win by a length in the end. She was far back early but made a huge run down the stretch to get up. She ran the distance in 1:33.62 and earned $150.000 for the win.

2nd Scent Of A Filly, trained by Mo Mentum Farm

A very big run from the filly also as she tried to win her third race in a row. She was in about the middle of the field early on in the race and she was in a good spot. She made a pretty good run down the stretch but just didn’t have enough to beat the winner. She ran very well.

3rd Unmistakable, trained by Mb Stables

A tough beat for this one as she had a tough post and the she didn’t get an ideal trip. She was very close to the lead and hit the lead just a little bit too early in the stretch but she did keep on fighting to at least run a good third.

4th Forty Chai, trained by Estero Farms

Kind of an odd race for this one as she was towards the back of the field early on and then she dropped back to almost last with a quarter mile left to run. Dropping back may have cost her a better finish as she ran very strong late in the race and was only beaten two lengths.

Summary

A very big time win here for the winner as she got her first graded stakes score and she also now has a free spot in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. She ran a big time race and stamped herself as one of the runners in this division. Congratulations to Slipdamaloo and Aer Stables.
