The Lake George – Grade III
SAR Race #4 1 1/16m InTurf Graded Stake
Purse $225.00 For Fillies Three Years Old.
1. Unfinished Symphony
Race Form: Her 2026 campaign shows consistent mid‑grade route efforts without a breakthrough. Turf figures this season sit in the low 90s (93 at LS), matching her overall profile: reliable but not improving. Her last two turf runs show similar patterns — settling midpack and staying on without accelerating late. No wet‑track form. Long‑distance record is solid (5 starts: 1‑1‑1), but all wins came last season.
Work Times:
- 5 Jul LS – 5f turf :58 (3/9) → Fast, sharp, indicates fitness.
- 3 Jun LS – 6f turf 1:10 (3/11) → Strong stamina-building turf drill.
- 14 May LS – 5f :58.2 (2/7) → Consistent speed.
- 26 Apr LS – 6f 1:11 (2/4) → Steady conditioning.
Summary: Work pattern shows consistent speed and fitness, but race form suggests she maintains her level rather than progressing.
2. Zen Conquest
Race Form: Eight turf starts with two wins, but her graded attempts show she levels off late. Her 2026 figures range 87–93, with her best this year being a 93 in the Florida Oaks (GIII). She repeatedly holds position but doesn’t improve through the stretch. Reliable but not advancing.
Work Times:
- 25 Jul MTH – 6f turf 1:10 (6/34) → Strong, competitive turf move.
- 17 Jul PRX – 6f turf 1:10 (51/138) → Large set; time still respectable.
- 7 Jul MTH – 6f 1:11.3 (129/143) → Slower dirt drill.
- 20 Jun AQU – 6f turf 1:10.1 (19/22) → Consistent turf conditioning.
Summary: Work times show solid fitness but no standout improvement. Matches her race form: steady, not rising.
3. Matilda Jung
Race Form: Her 2026 turf form is ascending. A 91 at SAR last out (Wild App) and a 96 sprint figure in the Soar Soar (GIII) show versatility and improvement. She has hit 90+ in four of her last five starts. Proven at SAR and consistent at 1 mile.
Work Times:
- 22 Jul SAR – 1m turf 1:35 (4/5) → Excellent route turf drill; mirrors race conditions.
- 31 May SAR – 1m turf 1:35 (1/1) → Solo bullet; strong indicator of readiness.
- 3 May WO – 6f turf 1:10 (3/8) → Sharp mid‑prep work.
- 25 Mar HOU – 6f turf 1:09.4 (1/2) → Very fast early-season turf drill.
Summary: Work times show sustained, high‑quality turf conditioning at race distance. Form and works align: she is progressing.
4. Party At The Shire
Race Form: Elite turf sprint form (94–98 figs). Only one route attempt this year (TAM Suncoast) and it was below her sprint level. Turf record is perfect (2-for-2), but both at sprint distances. Her recent 94 at MTH shows she remains in peak sprint condition.
Work Times:
- 20 Jul SAR – 1m turf 1:35.2 (1/1) → Important: successful route turf drill.
- 1 Jul PRX – 6f turf 1:09.4 (3/48) → Very fast; sprint speed intact.
- 28 Jun DEL – 6f turf 1:09.4 (1/32) → Bullet; confirms sharpness.
- 1 Jun PRX – 6f turf 1:09.4 (2/20) → Repeated fast turf works.
Summary: Work pattern is exceptional — multiple sub‑1:10 turf drills and a strong route prep. Form is sprint‑based, but works show she’s being conditioned for the stretch‑out.
5. A Cautious Mating
Race Form: Improving since moving to Mb Stables. Her 94 at BTP (1 mile turf) is her best figure and shows she can carry speed. Consistent forward placement in all turf starts. Three turf runs this year: 94, 89, 89 — stable and rising.
Work Times:
- 25 Jul MTH – 6f turf 1:10 (3/34) → Strong turf conditioning.
- 7 Jul MTH – 6f 1:11 (76/143) → Moderate dirt drill.
- 19 Jun AQU – 6f turf 1:10.1 (5/11) → Good mid‑prep.
- 6 Jun PRX – 1m turf 1:35.3 (2/5) → Important route turf work.
Summary: Work times show steady improvement and strong turf fitness. Form matches the pattern: rising and reliable.
6. John 3sixteen
Race Form: Lightly raced but improving. Her CD N1X win earned a 90, and her SA maiden win was a 87. All three starts show similar tactical positioning and late improvement. Needs another step forward to match graded form.
Work Times:
- 19 Jun PRX – 6f turf 1:10.3 (11/48) → Solid turf drill.
- 9 Jun PRX – 6f turf 1:10.2 (9/30) → Consistent.
- 6 May AQU – 1m turf 1:35.3 (7/8) → Route conditioning.
- 16 Apr AQU – 1m turf 1:35.3 (2/5) → Early-season stamina work.
Summary: Work times are steady and professional. Form is improving but still developing.
Race Summary
This looks pretty even between 4 of them at least so it really will be a matter of who gets the race engine breaks. Mb Stables forked out $50 for A Cautious Mating and then ran it at BTP where she was beaten in a little stakes race. Whilst the stable name will draw some of the money I may look elsewhere here but no further than another Mb Stables runner in Zen Conquest. For me the exacta will be that one and Unfinished Symphony and it may be best to box it up.
