SA Race #3 $100.000

F&M 3+  121/124 Lbs (plus penalties) 11/2 (T)

#1 I Want Justice (Team 7 Illusions/A. Cedillo 121): Filly is the only sophomore in the field, but she gets weight, and she draws the rail.  Hasn’t faced the best of her crop, but she does have proven turf form, and she hasn’t shown any distance limitations.  Stalking-type is taking a step up; however, this looks like a good spot to do so.

#2 Commanding Ash (First Flight Stable/J. Bravo 124): 4yo took a free-track MSW before trying pay-to-play runners in her last three.  Hasn’t bested winners yet; however, she is stakes-placed, and she has experience with this trip.  Needs to demonstrate she’s improved but this isn’t outside the realm of possibility.

#3 Kiss Me Back Foot (Night Rider Stables/F. Dettori 124): GS-placed 4yo bested winners four-back and hasn’t embarrassed herself in any of her last 10-starts.  Tried the KYO trail as a maiden sophomore so the barn has held her in high regard for a while.  Tries the turf for the very first time here, but she has displayed speed in the past, so maybe she gets loose and puts them to sleep.

#4 Ghost (Barcelona Farms/D. Van Dyke 124): 5yo mare has been a consistent earner with three wins, and eleven other placings from 19-starts.  Just missed at this trip last out against $100.000 open company runners, so she has a lot going for her in this spot.  Keeps the pilot from the last encounter and have to believe they learned something after losing the lead late in that one.  The one to beat.

#5 Mo Cuishle (Royalty Stables/Mario Gutierrez 124): 4yo has shown flashes for a while; however, the barn has struggled to get the best out of her consistently.  Nothing wrong with the 3rd last out in a G3; however, she will have to prove she can stretch her speed another three-eighths here.  Trainer would like to get some black type on her page, but she has a lot to prove.

Final Analysis: Little bit of everything in this field of five, but we’ll call it 4-3 in the 7th edition of the Possibly Perfect Stakes at SA.  Good luck to all involved!
