Snakie Authorization Puts Perfect Recond on the Line in The Ali

The Ali – GIII
4/13/19
KEE Race 3 1 1/8M – Dirt
Purse $200.000
Four Year Olds and Up

Well here we are for this years running of the Ali here at Keeneland Race Course. A field of nine older routers will be lining up in the gates for this race. It looks to be a pretty evenly matched field for sure and it looks as if any one of the nine have a chance to win. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. What The Farley (13-5-1-1 $144.480), trained by YME Stable

And the first runner that we come across right here is coming into this race off of a not so great start in the grade three Canadian Turf at Gulfstream Park. He gets back to the dirt in here where he has done most of his best running. I think the surface change will help him out but he needs to run a huge race to win.

2. Track Bound (21-7-7-3 $217.350), trained by Luz International

The second runner that we come across right here is coming into this race off of a second place finish in an optional claimer at Fair Grounds. He hasn’t been able to pull through in stakes company yet but he might have a chance to win here. If he runs a big race he could possibly upset the field.

3. The Judge (16-6-6-1 $565.680), trained by Mb Stables

Well right here we have the highest earning runner in the field and most of that is from when this horse won the Caribbean Classic this winter. He also ran second in the grade three Oklahoma Derby too. He has been knocking on the door in his last two and he has a very good chance to win in here.

4. Graceful (16-2-4-4 $110.740), trained by Nakamura Stables

And now we come to this horse who is entering this spot off of a second place finish in the Curribot Handicap at Sunland Park. He was also second in a thirty five dollar claimer two starts back so he is trying to climb the class ladder. He isn’t a hopeless shot but he will need to run a career best to win.

5. Snakie Authorization (3-3-0-0 $85.800), trained by Barcelona Farms

And now we come to a horse that is undefeated in his three career starts. He started off and the free track and then moved to Fair Grounds and won an allowance on the turf. His last start was a win in the Challenger Stakes at Tampa Bay on the dirt so he is versatile. He is perfect so hard not to give him a look.

6. Cannes Farley (12-2-2-1 $96.270), trained by RNP Stables

Now here is a horse who has been on hard times as he has not won a race since a the way back in March of last year. He did run second in the grade three Ontario Derby last year but other than that there hasn’t been much to look at. He is a longshot and should be based off of his form.

7. Nice Distorted Laff (19-7-6-2 $346.750), trained by Night Rider Stables

One of the most consistent runners in the field right here as this horse has fifteen in the money finishes in seventeen career starts. He ran second in the grade three Mineshaft Handicap after setting the fractions most of the way. He has a lot of early speed so a slow pace up front will help him out a lot.

8. Sweep The Fire (17-8-2-0 $464.880), trained by Nj Vets

A graded stakes winner here but that dates back to last June when he won the grade three Iselin Stakes at Monmouth. Since then he has not been able to do a whole lot in any races and has been out of the top three every time. He needs to fine his form from last year to win in this spot.

9. La Grande Terre (13-3-2-2 $220.250), trained by D J C Racing Stables

Another horse with a lot of early speed right here and with this outside gate it will be hard to keep him off of the lead. He is graded stakes and actually pushed Pretty Ferro to the limit last year in the Gotham. He is capable of winning but he cannot go to the lead if he wants any shot of winning most likely.

Summary

Well this seems to be a might competitive field and you can make a strong case for most of them. The top pick for me is going to be the undefeated horse Snakie Authorization because it is just hard to go against a horse that has a perfect record. Good luck to all in the field.
