Hong Kong Panther and Summer Beauty would take the top two spots in this years Tiara, being separated by just under two tenth of a second at the wire. After Spankys Barn had a runner-up placing in the earlier CC Canterbury, there was no bigger smile in the winners circle on the day.

If ever there was a horse who could continue adding purse money towards her trainers entry fees, Hong Kong Panther continues to show she has the talents of a champion. Her career record now sits at 9 ( 5-2-2 ) and $132.23 in total earnings. While her SRF numbers have never been in the 90’s in her career, sometimes the talents of a trainer is finding the right level to compete at to continue a horse on his winning ways. This is her first ever stakes titles, and even though she hit at this level, I think her trainer will continue to find the right fit in her future.

Her stablemate Summer Beauty and fellow sophomore is still winless this season, but put in a talented effort on the front end, only failing in the finally steps to the wire. While she has failing to maintain her speed in earlier affairs, she may have found the Gulfstream track surface to her liking. Will be interesting to see if she remains in Florida.

The show share was snatched up by T Boy Racing’s Made The Choice High was all full of run late in this first return back to the turf, and it is obvious to this writer that the grass is definitely the footing that this gray filly need to be placed on in her future events.

Final share of a fin went to Night Rider Stables lone four year old in the race Calissona. While the chestnut filly tried to stay near the front in the early fractions, she was unable to turn this affair into a threepeat for her career.
