G1 BC JUVENILE FILLIES TURF AUTO-QUALIFIER

Spun Around used a determined, wide rally to score the second win of her career as she motored home to claim the G1 Natalma Stakes at WO.  Saturday’s victory, the filly’s first against winners, secured her spot in the starting gate for November’s G1 BC Juvenile Fillies Turf.  Spun Around crossed the wire in 1:33.79 and just a head in front of Broadway Lady as she improved to 6-2-2-1 with $431.500 in earnings.

Breaking from the outside in stall 12, Spun Around was allowed to settle into stride some six lengths off of the early pace.  As Sinister City completed the opening quarter in :23.02, the Mb Stables-trained winner was running eighth and out in the five path.

Spun Around maintained her course and position as Sinister City led them into the turn after a half went in :46.24.  Under confident handling, she gave up ground rounding the turn as she commenced her rally from the three-eighths pole.  Gathering momentum, Spun Around had moved to fifth as she entered the lane.

Sinister City was still loose on the lead as she posted six panels in 1:09.60, but Spun Around was erasing her four length deficit with every stride.  At the sixteenth pole, it was down to four runners as Sinister City, Broadway Lady, Spun Around, and Fight To Love were all on almost even terms.  It would be Spun Around, at least 10-wide, that proved best in the final 100-yards as she just narrowly reached the wire before Broadway Lady in the time of 1:33.83.  Fight To Love, beaten just a half-length for all of it, got the bob over Sinister City for the show honors.  Completing the order of finish were To Sheila, Class Four, Thermodynamics, Springs Eternal, Sweet Feet, Loud Mouth, So Classy, and Mine Tonight.

Congratulations to Spun Around and Mb Stables on their G1 Natalma victory and good luck to them in the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf!
