Sqawilther Too Tough in Triple Bend Stakes

Triple Bend Stakes – Grade I
7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $400.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Sqawilther, trained by John Henry
Confirmed his game win in the Parlos Verdes with another tough display here and he looks set after a tough four year old season to hit the ground running as a five year old. Stalking the pace he won this by a neck in a very fast time taking some big scalps in the process. The trainer has really started to fire this year and this one should follow a few stable mates towards the BC challenge.

2nd Oh My Senor, trained by Ekli Stable
Tried really hard to turn round the Palos Verdes form but just got out battled in the end in a blanket finish. This was a big effort against top sprinters but with the way these races are so close it is almost impossible to weigh up the performance. This however was his best yet.

3rd Give Your All, trained by Mb Stables
All the grade one wins in the world doesnt give you an automatic win at HRP and he could only manage a dead heat for third after looking like he was coming to win the race. He may need a mile these days to really see him at his best but in a race where barely more than a length covered the first six i wouldnt write him off next time.

3rd Clatther, trained by Ekli Stables
Flew from the back to share third in a very nice effort. If he gets a decent draw against these next time he may well have the beating of them.
