Stallsome Pulls Out the Finish to Take Connally BC Turf

Connally BC Turf – Grade III
1 1/2 Mile Turf Stake Purse $200.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1ST Stallsome Maxmillion Farm Saez L

The turf king may not be a fan of the new race engine but it seems his almost magical quality of turning out long distance turf stakes winners is continuing un-affected. This one was backed into favoritism and despite being taken back a little, a trait that according to some has disadvantages, he was able to track through for a fairly easy one length win. This six year old certainly seems to be a late developer as his best races have all happened in the last 6 months so i am sure there is plenty more success in this ones future.

2ND Sundays Sauce D J C Racing Stables Gaffalione T

He put his poor first run of the year behind him with a solid run into second place possibly aided by a much better draw today. If the new owner can find some consistency with him he looks to have a good season ahead of him.

3RD Keg Size Bomberracing Arrieta F

His last start just 3 weeks ago was in a $25 claimer so its goes to further show what little difference there can be between graded stakes and lower end racing. He was subject to one of the new starts where his legs seems to stand still for a few yards whilst everything else came out running. Thus he was tailed off at the back for most of the journey but he made significant ground in the race and ended up just a length back in third after losing six lengths at the start. An analysis of this race could put him as the clear winner with a good start and he looks set for a very good season.

4TH Hammerfest Smokey Stover Ryan S

It would be interesting to analyze the instructions this one has been on in the last couple of weeks because whilst the new race engine see’s much less dependence on an inside draw it seems significant that last time, drawn one, he easily stalked to win and in this race from a wide draw he went back only to run on late.
It wasn’t a bad effort but at the end of the day a BC Turf runner up with a good win last time may have been expected to do better in this race.
