The chalk came home first and second in Saturday’s CA Cup Oaks as Aer Stables’ Stargazing, sent off as the 1.70/1 favorite, proved that she can run better than third, winning by two and getting home in 1:333 for the flat mile turf stakes.  Dream Scheme was the 3/1 second choice and took the place with a nice closing kick and was a neck in front of 56/1 long-shot (and my second choice) Glamorous Life.  It was another three-quarters of a length to E I E I O, taking the minor money.

Stargazing is a 3yo black filly by Pinnacle West – Waterford Crystal, by Rene, and she was bred in CA by Martyparty.  Acquired by Aer Stables at the Dec ’19 Auction for $35.010, this was her second win from five starts, her first stakes score, and she now shows earnings of $361.160.
